SUNDAY MARCH 20TH 5pm
TUESDAYS AFTERNOON
I was driving my
friend home one night. I pulled in to his driveway as I had done 600 times
before. Sitting in his driveway , we chatted like 600 times before. I told
him that 25 years ago I traveled to Vail Colorado. A very good friend had
died of an acute asthma attack while whitewater rafting the Colorado river.
Being Jewish , the family took his body directly back home to New Jersey.
We felt as his friends , rebuffed at not being able to pay our last
respects. Luckily for us , Peter @ the Vail Racket Club felt the same way. 2
months later we all came together. Everyone brought food , we told our own
stories of how our FRIEND Bart had affected us. Sunset at the racket club is
spectacular itself , that day even more so. 150 friends & family released
helium balloons at sunset , each filled with memories of days gone by.
I asked my
friend Tuesday , to please do that for me. I will always remember the smile
that followed. With an out stretched hand he solemnly
promised the deed
was done. With a wink He asked “ can I do it at Everydays ? I don’t think I
can get everyone to go to Colorado.” We both busted a gut laughing so hard
it truly HURT. Getting out of my truck , he leaned in the window & with his
boyish grin said “ that sounds good will you do the same for me “ ? Before
I could answer , He said “only can you serve Hoffman hotdogs , & make that
meat sauce you know I like. I want a keg of Ice cold beer , & as quickly as
he started he looked at me “ That’s probably enough , would you do that for
me “? Before I could answer He said You know I’ll do it for you!! We
laughed again & I thought I hope I don’t have to do it. Well I do have to do
it.
My friend
Tommy “TUESDAY” Riveglia lost his fight for life
January 12th 2011 after just a brief 46 years.
He may be gone , But not forgotten !!!!
Please help
my wife & I celebrate Tuesdays life. Meet us on the Patio @ Everydays 5
P.M. Sunday March 20th. It’s the first day of Spring & we can’t think of a
better day . Yeah , We’ll be serving Hoffman hot dogs , meat sauce & ice
cold beer. If you have an “appropriate” story you want to share please tell
us. Sunset we will release helium balloons. A $5 donation will be accepted
for his twins college fund.
